This article presents a historical lexicon with terms that are of significant
value to scholars of the past. Its aim is to provide documentation
of words that either do not appear, or do not include all
significant meanings, in the Diccionario de la Lengua Española of
the Royal Academy. Likewise, the Diccionario de autoridades and
the classical works of Joan Coraminas were examined. However,
the words used in Chile were given special attention, whether
they appear or not in the consulted works, thus privileging real
language use, which is the matter that the historical researcher
is interested in. In this way, we have recorded various terms that
appear in diverse ancient Chronicles and documents, trying to inquire
into its remote meaning.
Keywords: history, documents, historical lexicon, semantics.
