The State Versus The Family? Two Actors In The Constitution Of Social Policies In Chile, 1900-1950
Abstract
This article analyzes the links between the family and the state in the constitution of social policies in Chile in the first half of the twentieth century. A critical reading of historical studies on social policies in Chile, not clearly establish the complex relations between actors or simplify his interactions. For this purpose some milestones that marked the route of such policy, the ideological assumptions present in the debates and unclear limits of the capacities of the State and the Families.
