Fear, Trascendence And Politics. The National Reorganization Process. Argentina, 1976
Abstract
This research analyzes the development of some legitimation forms that took place between the 30’s and the 70’s and their political effects on the historical moment of occurrence, i.e. the origin in 1976 of the so-called Proceso de Reorganización Nacional- PRN (National Reorganization Process - NRP). To this purpose, its founding documents are visualized. Taking into consideration the description of emotional contexts, specialized bibliography on the sociology of emotions and historiography of Argentina was used to determine the dynamics of the processes that interpret the reality in terms of security/insecurity (fear) in the military and ecclesiastical elites in the preliminary and early stages of the NRP. Thus, its historical influence is highlighted in respect of the derivative fear and its interrelation with the desensitization processes and denegative pacts linked to the production of fear by the State. The existence of transcendent perception rationalities that activated an emotion –fear– is established in specific emotional communities, thus legitimating actions that undermined the democracy and favored authoritarian solutions.
