Abstract

Dear History 396 readers,

We are pleased to present the edition Volume 4, no. 1 of History 396. Although we faced many challenges, we succeeded with the objective of making History 396 a high-level academic publication that contributes to historical discussions and knowledge. Our associates and their work continue to receive international recognition through this publication.

At the same time, the indexing process continues to be maintained in order to reach adequate levels of international academic quality. Due to these efforts, the Index of scientific publications Scopus accepted History 396 in 2014.

The current issue presents works, which cover various eras and places. Thus, we continue to further the goal of presenting distinct history views and research. In this way, the magazine touches on topics and issues, which draw the attention of researchers beyond the borders of Chile and augment the knowledge of readers regarding groundbreaking research, methodologies, and approaches.

The evolution and the high quality of this journal would not be possible without the help of our valuable article evaluators, both national and international. Thanks to them, History 396 can maintain the search for quality, plurality, and openness towards new disciplinary views.

Last, but not least, we thank our collaborators who placed their trust in History 396 by sending us their papers.
