Abstract

This paper analyzes the associations of the Italian colony in Tarapacá between 1874 and 1910, considered as key elements in the process of reproduction of the Italian identity at the same time that mechanisms of integration into the receiving society. In this way, first contextualize the presence of the Italian colony in the province of Tarapacá, then will be analyzed in detail each of the forms of associativity deployed and finally there will be a balance of its relevance in the shaping of society of Tarapacá.
