El Panamericanismo: Estrategia Imperialista Estadounidense Sobre América Latina Y El Caribe, 1881-1890
Resumen
En este trabajo nos ocupamos del estudio del Panamericanismo en EE. UU. A partir de un rico corpus documental -fuentes gubernamentales, parlamentarias, diplomáticas y periodísticas-, nos centramos en los inicios del movimiento panamericano en la década de 1880. Situamos al panamericanismo en su contexto, el del imperialismo y la Gran Depresión (1873-1896), y lo analizamos como una política imperialista para resolver la crisis de acumulación capitalista. Al mismo tiempo, analizamos las incidencias que el panamericanismo, como proyecto hegemónico, tuvo al interior de la política estadounidense, los debates que suscitó y las modificaciones que generó.
