Resumen

Este artículo aborda el estudio de la política intervencionista
que lleva a cabo el presidente demócrata Franklin D. Roosevelt
en la década de 1930 en los Estados Unidos. En este trabajo
se analizan las principales reformas que promueve Roosevelt,
cuando asume la presidencia del país, en 1933, con las que pretende
luchar contra la depresión económica en la que estaba
sumida la nación. Estas medidas son conocidas con el nombre
genérico de New Deal. Este período se extiende desde 1933
hasta 1939, año en que estalla la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En
esta etapa de su historia, Estados Unidos, país considerado
como prototipo del liberalismo, adopta una política intervencionista
en la que el gobierno federal marca las directrices de
todos los sectores básicos de la economía de la nación.
